Room 239; Monday Afternoon [11/07].
After an exciting morning of non-deadly heroics and fighting stuff (and of course getting something to eat!), Graham was looking forward to spending a nice productive afternoon back in his room to work a little more on that cloak he was sewing up for Guillermo before maybe pursuing other adventures that evening. After all, as a bat, Guillermo had been doing most of his sleeping during that day, and that was exactly what he was doing at that moment, hanging from the perch Graham had rigged up so that his friend could truly live his best bat life. And he didn't really mind, either! Having Gray as a roommate meant that Graham was pretty much used to working quietly in his room while another person slept away the most random hours of the day. It was kind of nice, actually. Really helped him focus instead of being distracted by every little, possibly shiny thing.
And as he worked, he occasionally took a moment to hold out the cloak and inspect it with a critical eye, a few needles hanging from his mouth, before he got back to work. He was worried that the cape wouldn't seem nearly as...vampire-y enough, and wondered if maybe cutting the hem to make it seem jagged or adding more of a stiff collar would help with that effect. Overall, though, he felt it was shaping up to be a pretty nice cloak! Nowhere near as good as his own cloak, of course, but he would probably never be as good at sewing and costuming as his mother was! And that was a-okay by him!
[[ mostly for the bat friend, but it is definitely also very open, too! ]]

He could actually get used to being a bat …
He started to find himself waking up for a bit, he gave a little screech and flapped his wings and tried to get comfortable again.

"Too bright?" he guessed. "I can pull the curtains and shut off the lights and work by candlelight, if that's better for you, Guillermo! I don't mind! I'm actually pretty used to it!"
You know, what with the whole 'no electricity' thing back in his world, and all. Plus, whatever was going to make his friend most comfortable in that moment was tantamount to anything else.
no subject
He wanted to go back to sleep, he wasn’t ready to wake up just yet.
no subject
"Better?" he asked, glancing over to Guillermo for his all-important assessment.
no subject
Now he just had to see if he could fall black asleep, there was so much exploring to be had later, he needed to be awake and alert for and it just wouldn’t do if he couldn’t fall asleep.
no subject
"Too bad we can't control the brightness of the lights more!" he noted, but he was tapping his chin, peering up at the light fixture. "I wonder if we could rig up some sort of cover for them, though, to really get the best optimal level of lighting for both bat naps and costuming..."

He wasn't sure if he would actually follow through with it, truth be told, but it was kind of fun to speculate and spit-ball, and who knows? Maybe it might actually work!

"You know," he added, as he went over to his be, to sort through the scattered bits of leftover cloth, trying to find a good one to suit their purpose, "that's one of the many things I like about you, Guillermo. Ready for anything! Always willing to lend a helping hand! Or, well," he chuckled a little to himself as he grinned over, "a helping wing, in this case!"
Finally deciding on a piece, he held it up triumphantly. "What about this one? Wanna go ahead and fly that up and see if it works?"
no subject
Guillermo gave a happy beam at that praise, or at least as a much as a bat could beam and flew from the perch towards Graham to try and see whether or not he could get the piece and fly it up.
Guillermo managed to get the piece on the light. It was a little challenging nub the eventually got it in and then he started to fly back down only something was wrong .
His wings were slowing down and then a moment later Guillermo was hovering mid air completely naked.
Then he started to fall, he managed to do a a couple of somersaults in the air to try and slow down and land on his feet. He ended up landing on his feet and then toppling over on the floor.
“Whoa,” he blinked a bit as he lay there sprawled out on Graham’s floor completely naked, he would eventually realise the lack of clothes but for now he was making no effort to get up off the floor.
no subject
"Whoa," Graham echoed, because that really said it best, staring for a moment before he blinked, shook his head, and then stared just a little bit more.
"Guillermo!" he then said, snapping out of it, and grinning broadly. "You're back to yourself again! And that was amazing! Are you okay? Did it hurt? Where did you learn to do somersaults like that? That was so. COOL! Could use a little work on the landing, but still! That was at least an eight out of ten bat-to-person dismount! Easily the best one I've ever seen!"
And also the only one, but shhhh, details.
no subject
“I did somersaults?” because that was clearly the most important aspect of turning back and not that he’d been a bat for nearly a week.
no subject
"A couple of them!" Graham confirmed. "It was great! You must have thought real quick to have pulled them off!"
no subject
“It must have been awesome to see though, I wish I could figure out how I did that,”
no subject
Lest he forget that small little detail.
And now Graham was remembering it, too, and felt that faintest of red starting to creep up on his cheeks just a bit.
no subject
Because he had definitely been trying to not focus on the whole falling from the ceiling and landing on the floor completely naked part.
This was very mortifying and right now the floor was suddenly very fascinating.

There was a pause for dramatic effect, and Graham leaped a little over to where he'd left his project, so that he could grab it and shake it out with a flourish...
...and a small shower of pins.
"A cloak!"
And, with a few more shakes to take care of any still-clinging pins, Graham swooped over toward Guillermo so thay he could go ahead and drape it over his shoulders.
"It's not finished yet," he warned him, "but if now's not a good time to give it a test ride, I don't know what is!"
no subject
“Oh wow,” he smiled, “it’s still incredible, I can’t wait to try wearing it,” admittedly he thought he’d be wearing clothes when he tried it but at least he still had something to cover up with.
no subject
You just...had to keep saying it, too, huh, Graham?
"I mean," he then added. "Of course it would! If you're wearing it!"
He seemed to realize what he said a moment later, feeling that blush intensify, as he gave an awkward sort of chuckle, tugging slightly at the cowl of his own cloak.
"Ha ha," he laughed, "boy, it's a little warm in here, isn't it? Just me? It seems warm. Maybe I should go crack open a window..."

"To the window!" he declared, hurrying his way over to said window. All that trouble closing the curtains, just to pull them back again to open the window and let in some cooler air with a very dramatic, appreciative sigh.
"Better already!" he said, leaning now on the desk nearby and offering a grin. "But you're back to yourself again, Guillermo! Welcome back! How's it feel?"
no subject
“Thank you,” he smiled, “I don’t feel too bad considering I was a bat for a week, it was rather different to experience but it was fun being a bat,” he admitted.
